Nutrient Neutrality Success

Since the overnight implementation of Nutrient Neutrality mitigation requirements in Cumbria and North East England by Natural England in March 2022, we have worked tirelessly to develop our knowledge and skill set to assist our clients in navigating these new regulations.

There have been challenges and changes along the way. New guidance and criteria are regularly published by Natural England and local councils which either provide for new opportunities or look to restrict the implementation of previously agreed methodologies.

However, due to our knowledge bank and existing relationships with local councils we continue to be successful in delivering Nutrient Neutrality Mitigation Strategies. We aim to provide nature-based, cost effective solutions which are individually tailored to each specific site and each individual client.

We have provided approved strategies for large and small projects, utilizing varied solutions such as woodland creation, sustainable drainage schemes and the removal and replacement of previously heavily polluting septic tanks with far higher performing modern package treatment plants.

We are proud to be one of a few local firms with continued success in this challenging area, enabling the continued supply of housing stock and commercial premises in the affected areas.
